Bill Gates is supposed to leave Microsoft officially next week. Everywhere on the Internet, there are pieces doing the rounds I gaining Microsoft without Bill Gates. Bill has been the principle force behind Microsoft. He had an active role to play in all the decisions in the company. He knew about all the technologies being developed at Microsoft. At heart, Gates was always a hacker.

Microsoft is not letting go of Yahoo! as it claimed a couple of weeks back. They have issued a Press Release, which states that the deal could be more of a transaction and not an acquisition.

Microsoft had raised its bid to $33 per share but Yahoo wanted anything between $35-$37 per share. And Microsoft was not willing to pay more than $33 per share. Besides that they did not find it sensible enough to take the deal directly to the share holders. Therefore, finally Microsoft walked away. After the deal was closed Steve Ballmer sent an e-mail to all his employees which is as follows:

Microsoft Corp. withdrew its $42.3 billion bid to buy Yahoo Inc. on Saturday due to no clear meeting ground with respect to price among other things.
 
This has been announced after Microsoft decided to raise its initial offer despite refusing to do so for all of last week.

OK fine. Frankly, I get pissed off when people (websites, yaar) serve me car loans ads for a BMW when I do not even have money to buy a Bajaj Pulsar. (What I do with all my salary, is another question altogether). At times, I so wanna ask these ad-networks, what do you see in my profile that suggests that it’s ok for you to prompt me to go and buy an eight-cylinder, 3000 CC sedan? That, however, is not an option. Not anymore.
This news piece says, Yahoo is planning to let the end users know their ad profile. What this means is, that you will be able to right-click on an ad and find what exactly in your profile has prompted Yahoo to deliver that ad of the matrimony website

In the picture Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft Corporation was giving a presentation on the projection screen through his laptop. But the laptop seems to belong to some other Steve – Steve Jobs from Apple.
