WATShow.com caught up with GlobalScholar.com CEO Kal Raman who prior to joining GlobalScholar.com, he was the SVP of WW hardlines at amazon.com since Aug 2004. At amazon.com, Kal was in charge of the world wide hardlines business and also in charge of retail technology and online marketing for the entire company. Kal held variety of jobs at drugstore.com from 1998-2004. He was the CEO of drugstore.com from 2001-04 and also served as COO and CIO.

Last time I covered Learnhub.com, when it was launched in March, this year. They have create d community model around the activity of learning. They had some partnership with Educomp then. I noticed a lot of people forming communities around different subjects and asking questions.

Naukri.com’s much awaited education portal shiksha.com has just been launched. And the portal first impression (based on design and UI) isn’t impressive at all. Shiksha.com is surely NOT eyecandy and already has google ads on the homepage! My question is.. Is it really required? Given that naukri has enough money to support this site till its good to make decent revenue?

Im sure if you are an active reader then you must have heard the buzz about naukri.com looking at launching an education portal. Also recently there was speculation that the portal might be called Shiksha.com. In English ‘Shiksha’ stands for education so its right in line with the Naukri lineage which means jobs in english.
