Nokia has taken a significant step in being a Mobile Ad Network, by adding Sprint and Bharti Airtel to the list of carriers, reports Reuters India. Last year Nokia acquired Enpocket to start building its Mobile advertising business. Enpocket.com now redirects to advertising.nokia.com.

Nokia will be adding Microsoft Mail for Exchange in its E and N Series of phones. The series runs on Nokia’s S 60 platform. It has added the software to almost 80 million mobile devices already, reports ET.

First announced on August 29th, 2007, at the Go Play event in London, NOKIA has been trying to make its presence felt in the social networking scenario for a couple of months now. Ovi (“door” in Finnish) is expected to the focal point of a personal dashboard that NOKIA plans to simulate, where users can share photos with buddies, buy music and also showcase applications. NOKIA’s Ovi enables consumers to easily access their existing social network, communities and content, as well as acting as a gateway to NOKIA online services.
Airtel has been trying to increase the share of its VAS services. Its Airtel Live service, which offers a host of VAS features, is quite a hit with its subscribers. Now, Airtel has tied up with Nokia to embed the Airtel Live icon in its handsets.
After its foray into mobile advertising in India and a joint WAP site with BPL mobile, Buongiorno seems to be pretty bent on digging deeper into India’s premium mobile market. According to afaqs, the mobile VAS (value added services) company based in Italy, will launch Blinko.com in India in the next quarter.
