A considerable time after it sent out request for proposals, BCCI.TV, the Indian cricket body’s new official website is finally out. The site is neat, fresh and ordinary and hasn’t broken any path in its effort to bring Indian cricket online (officially at least). So you find a scorecard of India’s last international match, overview of domestic tourneys, news, and perhaps the most interesting part the archives (subjective).

Just watching the IPL Semi Final Between Chennai and Mohali and I noticed that the organisers of the event are starting to smartly integrate online models for their TV viewers. The latest being an application called Pulse Live.

A Fan Club Based on the IPL has Just Launched. The Timing is not necessarily perfect but a contest is up and running. It’s not clear if this fan club is ‘official’. A look at other Fan Clubs based on the Indian Premier League.

With the IPL hitting a sweet spot as far as the TV Ratings are concerned, and ShahRukh Khan’s Kolkatta Knight Riders being the media darlings, after their glamour combined with the best quality cricket that one has seen in the tournament, they seem geared up (with their golden pads) to take on the Online World as well.

The IPL kicks off today and in what seems to be a coordinated buzz generating PR strategy across media, Live Current Media has been given the exclusive rights to the IPL Portal.
 
 
So Live Current media will operate IPLT20.com and BCCI.tv. LCM will effectively pay $5M per year for the exclusive online rights to official photos, video footage, live [...]

This comes in via Pahwa from CS. Live Current Media Inc, a Vancouver, Canada based company has bagged the portal rights of the Indian Premier League for 10 years for $50 million (Rs. 200 Cr.)
