Social entrepreneurship is fast growing popular and the opportunity in it is far beyond the buzz. Personally, I am of the opinion that growth in India will eventually move out of the big cities and happen int he rural confines of our country. I believe that the value waiting to be unlocked in our hinterlands is enoromous. Of course social entrepreneurship doesn’t just mean you have to work in villages. It is about empowering the underprivileged wherever they might be.
I hope the two buzzwords of our time social media and social entrepreneurship work together and grow to completely alter the value chain and entrepreneurial eco system for the better.
The possibilities that the web provides when it comes to being entrepreneurial is limitless. Now there can be better ways to set your business up, however, using the web as a platform certainly makes it easier to get things started. And we all know so many dudes who did such stuff while in college and went on to make truckloads of truckloads of money. This may just help in you in getting your act right while you still can.
KickStart.in, a non-profit initiative, has been working at promoting entrepreneurship and helping out the young guns to manage their ventures for quite some time now. The trend of startups is growing in the country today and more people are interested to make it out on their own.

Venture Hacks, a blog on entrepreneurship has launched what it calls the Recommended feature. Well as the name goes, the service helps the new entrepreneurs seek recommendations from people that ether know them or have used their service. Founded by Naval Ravikant and Babak Nivi, Venture Hacks plans to make the process of reference checking smoother by presenting a Twitter-like system where you can make a profile and others can follow you. There can be recommendations from people who know you.
