The past ten years have seen an extraordinary flurry of jargons and buzz-words in the domain of marketing. While the only big inclusion in the marketing budgets of corporates is Internet marketing, this term itself can mean so many different things. Search Engine Marketing, blog marketing, email marketing, social media marketing are just some of [...]
It is no surprise therefore that a Nielsen survey found personal recommendations by friends the best form of advertising online. The survey covered around 25,000 Internet users from 50 countries including 500 respondents in India. The Economic Times has carried a much hyped 2009 – the year of India featured issue today, and one of the sections speaks on how the digital divide will be bridged this year. Incidentally bridging the digital divide was also the topic of WATBlog’s Delhi panel discussion. Though the panel didn’t put any conclusive date on when the gap will be brought down, the ET article suggests many reasons why this might be the time. As proponents and participants of the digital medium we would definitely want it to be, however the question lingers whether it can happen so soon.
It’s the Holiday season and Santa gifted me a little jest, now if you don’t see it in this post blame it on Uncle Clause. Here’s the WAT top 10 things that digital marketers wish for from the Christmas saint this year:
1. Subsidy on digital advertising campaigns and Tax holidays for companies which have higher digital spend
2. Social Media for Dummies Ver 4.0 (2.0 never came out and 3.0 was available only in Hebrew and 1.2 was so buggy it never made it to the ship)
3. More WATBlog Panels with more Iphone’s to win (\m/)
