It is sad that Yahoo, which is one of the earliest success stories on the Internet is fighting a slew of property shut downs lately. Yahoo had been an early mover in so many things that are sustaining the internet today. They launched email more than 12 years back and though they have sustained to [...]
The intellectual value that blogs and bloggers bring as info-media is immense in India. They present thought leadership not only with regards to their own niches but of blogging as a powerful medium as a whole. At a certain point of time the Indian blogosphere was the new measure of intelligentsia of the country. However for reasons that vary from exhaustion to newer tools to a general lack of ideas blogs haven’t gone beyond the mainstream peak they seemed to have reached back in early 2000 s
First of all, this question didn’t crop up because Twitter has remodeled itself to be a real time search engine. It arises however, because of reports that are floating around, and adoptions that people who earlier powered blogging are now making. Personal blogging, which goes beyond the definition of chronological arrangements of posts is facing what can perhaps be called an adolescent age, and it is changing.

Wordpress.com users can now post to their blogs using email. This bit of update follows the popular comment by Email feature they added a few weeks back. It certainly simplifies blogging on wp a lot simpler as the feature can be accessed from any device. You can send email from any email client, whether in a browser, on your desktop, or from your cell phone, and as much formatting will be retained as possible. And much like Posterous, multiple image attachments will be converted into a gallery of the images on your post.
All these happen when people talk, and if your aim as a brand is to engage with a blog’s audience use the media asset/space you get on a blog to let people talk. Let them speak on what you want to know from them, or let them speak on what you want others to know about you, and make all this happen on that banner space you put just your logo on.
Blogging began as a journal of thoughts and daily activities to add depth to people’s profiles online. Soon it replaced personal web pages and began attracting a lot of people on board. Importantly it also shifted from being just a journal to a page of conversations with comments. This gave space for people to build relationships on the web and thus sowed the seeds of social media.
While the case is closed on the Twitter profile of Shah Rukh Khan as a fake, Shah Rukh has officially began blogging on the Kolkata Knight Rider’s website. And thus now with the likes of Big B, Aamir and Salman the bigger Khan of them all has joined the celeb blog bandwagon. The only difference here being that instead of a personal blog, it revolves around KKR and the IPL.
After extensively testing its ‘comment reply via email feature’ in the closed beta, Wordpress.com has released the features for all its users. This simple improvement to the current commenting work flow has already started generating some rave reviews across the internet and is being seen as one step closer to bridging the divide between mailing [...]

Now thanks to its growing and mighty talented developer community there are plugins and themes that are slowly taking WP beyond the 2 column restraints of a blog. In this post, I would like to introduce a few plugins that help make your wordpress blog a little bigger than a blog.
We have featured updates and views on various publishing platforms online over a period of time. Publishing of course referring to the whole concept of setting up a content driven website. One such platform we have mentioned fleetingly yet is a big enough name in the world of content management online is Expression Engine. Though it doesn’t have the monstrous open source evangelism of Wordpress or Text Pattern, it has its share of loyal users and is a much admired CMS. This post aims to give a brief introduction to the content management system.
As a medium the web provides multiple channels of promotion and marketing. Each of the internal channels seem capable of catering to different marketing goals and also seem to require individual attention of specialists. However, structured and ‘have-been-successful’ online campaigns have leveraged on the power of these channels as a cohesive unit, rather than separate processes within the same campaign. And this is true from the smallest of publishers to the biggest names in online publishing.
