TimesCity has revamped its Android and iOS apps with new features that will enable consumers to discover the best restaurants, movies, events and nightlife in their city. The app features listings and recommendations based on location, type of event, and must-try & must-do things in and around where users are. Users can search & filter based on their preference of distance, ratings and price.
The app which was launched in May this year, also showcases trending places/events which highlight what’s popular with other users in the city, thus adding a social element to it much like Twitter’s trending hashtags. The application allows the user to read or write review for eating joints with intuitive arc-based rating system.
Speaking about the launch, Miten Sampat, Business Head, TimesCity said, ”With the launch of this app, we are providing users with a comprehensive lens into how to log-off and have a good time. Our team took an entirely fresh look at how we ourselves discover and plan with our friends, and what you see in the app, is something we’d all love to use every week.”
TimesCity app also boasts of a ‘Trending’ section similar to trending topics on Twitter and Facebook. The app also shows the most buzzing things going on in the city, in the “Trending” section. These trends are mainly picked up by the Times editorial team and some of them are also based on user activity. Another new feature added to the app is called ’Plan’. It allows users to share the plan of visiting restaurants, movies and events with their friends over Facebook, WhatsApp, Gmail and several such social apps.In order to provide a detailed personalized experience, the app asks a bunch of interesting questions to gauge the personal preference of the user.
The app is available in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Goa, Jaipur, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. TimesCity acquires Pune based mobile app company Gawbl in August this year and teamed up with Mobikon to book restaurant reservations directly through the site.
