Facebook Login is now one of the most popular login system among competitors like Twitter, Google and others. The login which started off as Facebook Connect has been used a wide variety of mobile apps to let users sign up for a service as quickly as they can without having to create new accounts all the time.
However, there have been concerns over how much data Facebook takes from these apps or vice versa i.e the permissions that these apps seek. Now, the company has announced that the the permission rules will be a tad bit stricter when it comes to apps posting on their wall. With this in mind Facebook has announced the deployment of a new Facebook Login system for mobile devices which asks separate permission for posting on a user’s wall. If you don’t want to share your activities and data on that app to Facebook, you can choose to skip this permission. The company says that the permissions can be changed back later at will. This new login system has already been active on the web version of Facebook, as most of you must have noticed. The company also added that they have made the Facebook Login for mobile 31% faster so as to make it a fast and easy process.
The social network also shared some data about Facebook Login in general. It says that users sign into their favorite apps via Facebook login some 850 million times a month. 81 of the highest grossing apps on iOS and 62 of the highest grossing apps on Android (both in the US) use Facebook Login.
Here is an infographic that they have released which gives more details about the login. Take a look at it below.
