The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) is all set to host the Second AppFest at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) from July 26 to 28. The three day event will address key components of app development, marketing and revenue on mobile devices and tablets/ Internet. The first AppFest was held in Hyderabad last year in November.
This year’s Appfest plans to emphasis on cross platform development, platform selection, marketing and revenue strategies. The three day fest will have three different events namely, Talkathon, Hackathon and Challengathon. The Talkathon will have industry experts who will speak on range of topics from app development to app marketing, sharing their first hand experience and case studies to showcase how apps have changed the world. On second day the Hackathon will feature a 24 hr coding marathon to create an app based on an idea by a fellow participant. The concluding day will have the Challangathon where participants have to develop an app as per their business requisite.
The AppFest 2013 seeks to provide an environment for developers and entrepreneurs to come together on a platform and leverage the opportunity to move towards an ‘Apps Economy’. Interested participants can register here and the last day of registration is July 25. Recently, Yahoo announced the sixth edition of Yahoo! Hack India which will be held in Hyderabad on July 13 & 14, 2013 in Hyderabad. In March this year Microsoft conducted 12 hour Windows AppFest conducted in Pune to develop apps for social cause.
