The Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure has announced the graduation of their second batch of technology and cloud based startups. The Summer batch saw 13 new startups joining the accelerator to get mentored by Microsoft’s business and technology mentors. The batch began on March 1st and has now culminated after almost four months.
The graduation involved all the startups showing their products to mentors, angel investors and venture capitalists in what is called a ‘Demo Day’. Out of the 13 startups inducted in the program, 9 startups passed on through to the Demo Day. These include explara, deck, Harness, i7 Networks, iDOS, SupportBee, TableGrabber, Tuebora and Visarity.
Mukund Mohan of the Microsoft Accelerator spoke about the graduation,
“We had handpicked them from 450+ applications. Basis our learnings from batch one, we made several improvements in our program, e. g. including more seed stage/angel investors as lead mentors, sharper focus on product definition and roadmap and stronger UX support. All these have helped this batch immensely as they prepared to take a significant leap into the global marketplace. In fact, one of them,Adepto, just got acquired!”
The accelerator is now readying itself to induct the next batch of startups. It has already started screening applications and a final list of startups will be announced early next month and batch will commence on July 15th with the demo day being planned on November 15 this year.
