Behold! ‘Coz the Zombie is coming to your mobile phone.
Techzone, a player in the Indian VAS industry, has tied-up with the new Bollywood zombie movie on-the-block (aptly) titled ‘Rise of the Zombie’. As per this tie-up, consumers will be able to download original songs from the movie, set them as CRBT, have access to behind-the-scene videos, exclusives, dialogues, wallpapers and more.
Rise of the Zombie is India’s first Zombie movie (it beats Saif Ali Khan’s Go Goa Gone and Abhay Deol’s Shaadi of the Dead to the finishing line) follows the story (transformation) of Neil Parker, a wildlife photographer.
Speaking on the tie-up, Mr. Naveen Bhandari, MD and CEO, Techzone said, “We are very excited about this collaboration. ROTZ is an interesting movie and has a differential concept. Needless to say, its music is also experimental. The WAP and CRBT service of ROTZ is being very well received. I am extremely glad of this association and am proud that Techzone is a part of this next-gen Indian cinema.”
Lead actor and co-director, Luke Kenny said, “ROTZ is a one of its kind movie with exceptional music rendered by the biggest names in the Indian independent music scene. It being a horror-drama makes music an essential part of the movie. This successful differentiation is clearly visible from the positive feedback of the audience. We want ROTZ’s movie to be available all over across all platforms and our alliance with Techzone is one of our endeavours for the same.”
Last year, Techzone launched an app dedicated to Big B on his birthday that was very well received. Given how pervasive inbound marketing, social media, smartphones have become and given that their importance in our lives has only increased multi-fold, such strategic partnerships are not baffling. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that they are the flavour of the digital age, with film-makers wanting to cash-in on the possibilities of these marketing tactics.
Do you think VAS and WAP content help increase the hype around the film and build curiosity? Or do you take this to be just another gimmick? Let me know your thoughts.
