The Social Media ecosystem has always been perceived as a place to unwind, relax & interact. If one needed to have a professional profile there was LinkedIn, ApnaCircle & few other sites. But overall the other sites were usually relegated to leisure activities. Well, that perception has been shattered multiple times. Commonly known as ‘Social Recruitment’, the phenomenon is neither quite easy to observe but its presence is surely felt as multiple services supporting the notion are coming up regularly.
Hence emerges the concept of Social Resume. A two, three of even four page summary of your career history now seems to be increasingly becoming outdated. Other networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter are slowly being employed to build a professionally-oriented profile. The reason for the slowness of pace could be attributed to the fact that no one envisaged their usage to gain mileage in their careers. Hence resorted to posting some things that could surely be termed as detrimental to a professional future. Merely creating a good-looking Social Resume is not enough. Just like Ad managers have to measure performance of their campaigns, so do career focused individuals have to evaluate whether their creations are gaining traction.
