BookMyShow Attempts To Categorize Events & Simplify Payments

Bigtree Entertainment has given its website BookMyShow a thorough overhaul. The website which is part of the Network18 Group will now features a completely new layout in an attempt at simplification & streamlining.

Starting from the core color-combination, gone are the trademark Yellow & White. Instead, the cash-rich website is now completely draped in simple white layout which enhances focus on the content rather than the theme of the portal.

Categorization: The site has now cleverly segregated multiple events to which tickets can be purchased. Notable among those is the ‘Sports’  section.

BookMyShow had previously sold tickets to few popular cricketing & other events. However, this tab puts a whole new perspective to the ticket selling of sporting events. From Hockey to Formula 1 Racing, the developers have taken efforts to ensure discovery of such events is now greatly enhanced & buying tickets is a breeze. Apart from Sports & Movies other tabs neatly listing events include: Events, Theatre, and Applications.

Other content like Movie Trailers, Entertainment news & even the list of top 10 movies has been given a place in the new layout. Ensuring visitors who come to BookMyShow have all they need to browse & make their purchasing decisions without having to leave the site. Such efforts are sure to ensure users spend a lot more time navigating the site. In other words, BookMyShow seems to have taken efforts to enhance user-interaction & wants to completely change its perception. We assume it now wants to be recognized as a complete entertainment portal as opposed to its present avatar of an online ticket vendor.

Apart from the visual & navigational revamp, BookMyShow also features a new payment cache that remembers your payment methods for quicker turnarounds. Called ‘MyPayments’ this feature enables users to save their credit/debit card details for future bookings. As an added safety precaution to disallow such sensitive details from falling into the wrong hands & are later misused, the site does note store the CVV number of the cards.

Do give the revamped site a tour & let us know your views.
