The professional social network LinkedIn has moved up couple of its Senior Employees to higher roles. Former Country Manager Hari V Krishnan has now been handed the responsibility of Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Japan regions as Managing Director. Meanwhile Nishant K Rao has been named as the new Country Manager. Interestingly, Nishant was Director, Business Operations, and Head of Global Sales Strategy at the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, California. This reshuffle comes close on the heels of the company appointing AL Jagannath as Head of Trade Marketing for India.
Why the restructuring at such a high level?
India’s education & professional sectors are growing handsomely. With foreign MNCs setting up bases in India, LinkedIn enhanced its India centric activities. Our readers will recall that LinkedIn is quite bullish in these regions of the world. Furthermore the company has an extensive array of customized hiring solutions. These packages need to be carefully tailored to suite the needs of domestic as well as global MNCs.
Nishant Rao will be instrumental in proactively offering LinkedIn’s Solutions to companies. As LinkedIn strategically expands from a platform for the job-seekers to actively helping companies find the right candidates, it will require the right people at the helm. Being the founder of one of the first call centers in India, Rao has ample experience of sourcing talent & negotiating long-term high profile deals, especially in his home country.
With almost 10% (18 Million) of its total subscriber base (187 Million) residing in India, LinkedIn can’t afford to take any chances. What do you think?
