Global digital advertising agency Exponential Interactive has announced the launch of its mobile ad solution called Appsnack in India, according to an Exchange4Media report. Appsnack helps advertisers to reach out to their audiences via mobile apps. Appsnack provides advertisers with rich media engagement campaign opportunities in addition to in-app functionalities. The agency launched Appsnack in May 2012 and they have brought the service to India to exploit the rapidly growing Indian mobile app market.
Amritpal Bedi, Director-Client Operations, Exponential said,
“India is a key market in Appsnack’s global launch strategy, given the strength of the nation as the world’s second-largest mobile market with over 903 million users, as per Mobile Marketing Association’s January 2012 data. As a market with fast-growth potential, marketers in India are looking beyond traditional online display to engage users on the move and through new creative strategies, unique to the mobile platform.”
Appsnack delivers ads using their mini-app units which can use resources central to a mobile app (like location based features) to deliver rich media experience to the audience. These experiences can be customized according to the needs of the advertisers. The solution also gives publishers a good way to monetize their content. The service claims that their ad layer and SDK is light and is optimized to run without the need for heavy resources.
Many new advertising solutions are coming up in the country to leverage the increasing use of mobile Internet and apps. This seems to be where the money’s at right now. However, Appsnack will have to deal with a slower smartphone adoption curve as compared to other countries. Smartphone sales are rising as they are coming within the reach of the everyone, thanks to Android and now Nokia. However, it will be some time before the smartphone eclipses the feature phone in India.
