Spuul Launches Indian Content Streaming Service; What’s The Big Deal?

Singapore based Spuul Pvt Ltd has launched a Video Streaming service that offers Indian Content.

The race to offer premium video content has begun quite some time ago. Though Yahoo entered a bit late, the space was first explored by Youtube which began by hosting Hindi movies & TV shows. Later many companies began to offer their versions of Video Streaming services.

So, what makes Spuul unique? Spuul offers a mixture of free-to-view and paid content. Currently, majority of its revenue comes from in-media advertisements. Spuul has simplified the login process. Users have to log-in using their existing Facebook accounts! Spuul extracts only relevant information to complete the registration whereas most of the premium content is locked away in a subscription costing US$ 4.99 (Rs. 250) per month. Spuul has also kept a pay-per-view option wherein some movies are available at just 99 Cents (Rs. 50).

Note: This introductory price will shot up to US$ 7.99 (Rs. 400) depending on the demand.

With competition from BigFlix, & recently launched ErosNow, it seems the content & the pricing will play a huge role in deciding which service is better. BiglFlix currently has over 1000 Movies, while ErosNow has over 2000. In comparison, Spuul have only 200 movies.

Hence only time will tell if it’s a success or not. Do you stream content regularly? How’s the experience?
