Creative people and companies, get ready! TripAdvisor, one of the world’s largest online travel companies, has just announced a Creative Ad Challenge. This challenge is up for the taking and the company has announced that they will be awarding the winners with $1.5 million in total. Each winning entry will receive USD $300k in equivalent CPM advertising media value. The prize fund will be split to allow multiple winners in different markets.
This challenge represents an unique opportunity for creative people and companies to present their work to the millions of global users who throng to the website in order to plan their travel needs. Winners will be able to take advantage of TripAdvisors targeting opportunities and thus help in maximising the website’s impact and engagement.
Martin Verdon-Roe, VP Display Sales EMEAA for TripAdvisor said, “The 2012 Creative Challenge gives travel brands the freedom to develop an engaging media campaign that tells a story and shows what their brand really stands for, rather than just focusing the on the more traditional ROI price point creative that is so common online. Following the success of our last challenge, this year it’s even bigger and provides multiple opportunities for travel brands to win specific market campaigns.”
The 2010 challenge was won by British Airways due to their interactive game concept on the lines of the popular show ‘The Price is Right’. This resulted in over 12.5m ad impressions over the campaign period. Totally the effort generated around 1.5 million British pounds worth of tracked bookings.
The last date of submission for this challenge is 31st May, 2012.
