Kolkata Knight Riders has announced that they will be affiliating exclusively with online apparel startup FreeCultr. Last December, they got $4 million in funding from Sequoia Capital. This is the first time that an IPL team has teamed up with an online only fashion brand and this augurs well for ecommerce startups and brands everywhere.
Venky Mysore, MD/CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders spoke about the tie-up saying, “The Kolkata Knight Riders prides itself in innovation and differentiation, and has decided to partner with FREECULTR. Our main objective has always been to continually keep our fans engaged, excited, and delighted and we believe this partnership will give our fans an added sense of pride as they become the brand ambassadors of the Kolkata Knight Riders.”
FreeCultr is all set to get an excellent business opportunity and wider reach due to this tie-up with KKR. Sujal Shah, CEO of FREECULTR said, “the association between Kolkata Knight Riders and FREECULTR is a winning partnership.” The initial KKR branded apparel will be available online (Freecultr.com & kkr.in).
