Hungama Digital Revamps

Hungama Digital Media has just revamped, the company’s platform for Independent artists in India.

Hungama started the Artist Aloud initiative exactly 2 years ago and it has gained quite a following since then. It also operates Bollywood Hungama and has been the front-runner in popularizing digital music.

They celebrated the new avatar of the website by live-streaming a Webcert.

The revamp of includes technical as well as service based upgrades. The new website is powered by HTML5 in addition to technologies like php, Javascript and AJAX. The service also sports new features like  showcasing multiple artists and released. You can now live-stream an entire song as opposed to the 30 second sampler that they had in the previous iteration. The layout has been changed and the UX is pretty neat with addition of the event Calendar. The website is now accessible via WAP, IVR and Apps in addition to Social Media integration.

Digital Music is going to undergo a humongous change this year.

With Flipkart launching it’s own music store, Flyte, the music listening and buying behavior of Indians is heading towards a fundamental change. The Independent music scene has been neglected far too long in this country which is full to the brim with Bollywood music. With individual songs priced at an average of Rs.10, digital music downloads are surely going to be more prominent in India from now on.

Will you buy music online at and Flyte?
