Internet and Mobile Association Of India (IAMAI) who is responsible for providing inspiring insights about Indian Mobile & Internet Users, has announced that the India Digital Awards has increased its sub-categories to 33.
Indian Digital Awards which is the only award function for recognition of achievements in the digital sector & was started by IAMAI in 2010 with only 9 categories. But considering the response & vastness of the sector, this year’s nominations (Deadline: 30 Nov 2011) have included a lot more covering from: Digital Payment (booming e-commerce, mobile banking) to achievements in Value Added Services (VAS) for mobiles (games, music, video, TV).
Apart from standard categories like Best digital campaigns like Email, social media engagement, SMS & integrated campaigns, there are some noble categories too like Best use of Mobile & Internet (individual categories) for social and economic development that have tried to achieve bringing people from various backgrounds closer through affordable digital media.
President of IAMAI, Mr. Subho Ray had this to say, “This the the only comprehensive award for the digital industry in India and we have had to scale it up this year given the variety of digital businesses that have emerged in the last couple of years”. He also announced that there will be one winner each in the 33 sub-categories which fall under the following 6 main categories:
- Digital Advertising
- Mobile VAS
- Digital Payment
- Digital Social and Economic Empowerment
- Special Awards
The scrutiny of valid & eligible entries will be a two-stage process. Stage 1 will be comprised of senior professionals from the trade & stage 2 will be made up of eminent media persons, industry veterans and academia. IAMAI is confident that The India Digital Awards is only award Of the industry, By the industry and For the industry, and the task is cut out for the judges to recognize and reward the best from the hundreds of nominations received so far.
