Beating its earlier model, iPhone 4S shattered all records of pre-orders by a huge margin as Apple announced that over 1 million have been sold within 24 hours of its launching the next iteration of iPhone 4.
The earlier record was held by Apple’s own iPhone 4 which sold a “mere” 600,000 in comparison. Its nearest rival Samsung Galaxy S II managed the same feat only after 1 month from its launch!iPhone sales even amazed Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing Philip Schiller, who said, “We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S. The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.“
Now, if we compare iPhone 4 & 4S, you would notice small incremental changes to the “internals” of the phone. While the external appearance & screen are exactly the same, the rear camera is bumped up to 8MP with Full HD 1080p Resolution video capability. The processor is a dual core (1GHz) A5.
Comparison at a glance:
Now it is hard to say whether, the sales were propelled by the marginally better hardware that iPhone 4S offered or people rushed on impulse buys to pay homage to Apples former CEO Steve Jobs who passed away last week.
Whatever the reasons, Apple has proven once again that it can make products with very high levels of desire & silence the critics & analysts.
Are you going to buy an Apple iPhone 4S?
