Will Facebook Shine Brighter With A Single Mobile-Chat App?

Facebook is all set to usher in the mobile planet as messaging boils down to a single mobile-chat app. This has been termed as “Messenger” and Facebook is still on the verge of completing it.

Facebook has made plans to make this app available on Apple iOS as well as Google Android. The mantra for users to access this messenger is by using their Facebook credentials in order to chat with their friends on Facebook. Apart from chatting, one would also get an access to the previous chats and message threads on the go. The USP here is the group messaging facility for all Facebook users and this is combined with a special component that will allow them to share pictures as well as location.

This messenger app is more like an extension of Facebook messages as announced in the Facebook blog saying, “All your conversations are in one place, including your texts, chats, emails and messages. Whether you’re on your phone or on the web, you can see the full history of all your messages.” At one go you can attach photos and add location to let people find you.

This messenger app echoes another mobile messaging application Beluga that Facebook took over in March. Nevertheless, Facebook spokesperson exclaimed that both Beluga and Facebook messenger app will remain independent of each other. In some time they are planning to push the Beluga messages to Facebook messenger but that will take time. However though the chat is on but the video is missing amidst all this. But we do remember Facebook’s partnership act with Skype and Mark Zuckerberg should surely do something about this.

You can get your mobile messenger by searching for “Facebook Messenger” in your phone’s app store, or get a link to the app texted to your phone.
