How many of us have tried to help a village in distress. Most often our government or NGO’s dives in to perform some welfare program. But this time one of the e-commerce company called Snapdeal.com has taken initiative to provide basic amenities, proper infrastructure, etc. to a village in Uttar Pradesh.
Scarcity of water is one of the existing issue in India, and Snapdeal.com is on it’s way to install water pumps to provide clean drinking water. The e-commerce company is also said to extend support towards local schools and hospitals.
As a token of appreciation the villagers have decided to change the name of the village from Shiv Nagar to Snapdeal.com Nagar. It will be interesting to see in coming days more and more e-commerce company or maybe mobile apps might join this cause… Just imagine in coming days different names our villages going to have.
