Albert Einstein once said, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity“. Everything has pros and cons in its kitty bag and so does technology. But if technology have caused us any harm then it has also helped us in detecting disease and curing it before the clock starts ticking. News have poured in that with the help handyscope, first device for mobile skin examination carried on with the iPhone.
The skin detection can be carried by twentyfold examination to get polarized view of the skin. Basically, handyscope gives an enlarge view of the skin or the mole to get better diagnostic of the skin cancer. This is how the examination starts: Firstly the handyscope is attached to the iPhone and directly put on the patient’s skin. The high resolution mole are directly captured. The mole surface is captured and saved for later skin examination. The suspicious moles are then photographed and labeled with patients data and comments. Saving the picture is assumed to be a support for some doctors who are not specialist in cancer but can discuss with their colleagues. As well as in rural area initial skin cancer can be easily detected. The handyscope Appp uses iPhone connectivity feature for e-mailing photos with specialist for second options.
handygo is already launched in Europe, and U.S.A and now it is being presented in Asia on May 24-29, 2011. at the World Congress Dermatology in Seoul.
