MTV and In.com Launch India’s First 24/7 Online Reality Show

MTV has joined hands with in.com to launch India’s first multi-screen reality show, MTV Crunch which comes alive across 3 screens – your mobile, the laptop screen and your television screen for the first time ever. The show started on 18 April.

The show will be live for 24 hours a day for the next 30 days. Viewers can watch it live on in.com on their laptops or PCs or 3G-enabled handsets. They can also watch daily updates on MTV at 8 p.m. daily.

Aditya Swamy, Channel Head – MTV India, talking more about the show said, “Cross media and interactive content is the future and with Crunch we have created a format true to the MTV DNA. With 720 hours of non stop drama, power packed into 30 days, this is going to be one hi speed ride.”

On MTV and in.com coming together, Amrish Sethi, Content & Programming Head, in.com, said “With increasing penetration of internet and mobile web, we are confident that this show will be a hit amongst our users.”

The show features 10 pairs of contestants locked in 10 rooms for the next 4 weeks with the walls physically closing in on them to become smaller, and smaller. The contestants have to survive the Crunch by performing tasks that are daunting but exciting.

Two pair of contestants will be eliminated every week. The power to vote out will be with the viewers. MTV also offers registered users a chance to chat with the inmates at real-time, everyday.

After live streaming of the sporting events, its turn of the reality shows now. India’s digital space is heating up for sure. And now after the advent of 3G, it will be good to see the performance of mobile platform as well.
