Investors like Valiant Capital Management, Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) and Intel Capital have invested Rs.200 crore into Yatra.com, online travel company.
According , to Yatra.com this investment is going to help them into their marketing and sales activities, expansion of business and hotels and development in different strategies. According to the sources of the Yatra.com that investment is going to expand their reach and brand awareness into e-commerce market. Yatra.com is well-known online company which provides travel related information to its customers. Yatra.com offers number of facilities like reservation facility for more than 3,800 hotels across 336 cities in India and over 90,000 hotels worldwide.
This is the second travel player announcing a big investment. Just yesterday we reported Cleartrip raising 40 million $. It seems that with Makemytrip succeeding with its IPO investors are suddenly bullish on the Indian travel portal space and are pumping in money with the hope of doing an IPO soon.
