Airtel has partnered with Shemaroo Entertainment Limited to provide religious content on its DTH (Direct-to-Home)platform. The content for the interactive channel will be provided by Shemaroo and Divinevistaas.
We have reported that most of the heads are turning in the direction of DTH because the quality is much better than of a normal T.V cable. The main goal of DTH companies seemed to focus on reducing the cost and gaining more subscribers.
Airtel Brand have braced to become global brand with it’s then new look. As a result, it is now being available in 19 countries that include India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and 16 African countries. This tie up with Shemaroo is clearly aimed at increasing its spread of content in the DTH segment. The new interactive channel iDarshan, would enable customers to enjoy Live Aarti from the four shrines-Tirupati, Vaishno Devi, Golden Temple and Shirdi.
It is one of the five interactive channels that Airtel Digital TV offers right now. Users can subscribe to the channel with monthly rental of Rs. 15. VAS is known to be popular around the ABCD of content i.e. Astrology, Bollywood, Cricket And Devotional. Its no surprise then the same funda is being applied to DTH as well.
