Did you notice anything different when you logged into your Twitter account. Twitter has added an interesting widget “Who to Follow” which will recommend users to you. Earlier, this feature was available for selected users but from today, it has been rolled for all the users.
On clicking the “View all” at the top of the widget,You’ll be directed to “Suggestions for you” under the Find People tab, which will list a number of suggestions. These suggestions according to Twitter are based on several factors, including people you follow and the people they follow. Twitter has plans to launch API’s for the third parties and developers so that they could include this feature in other applications as well. Some users will find this feature similar to the Facebook’s Suggestions but the nature of Twitter application makes it more relevant. There has been a mixed response from the twitter users. Some like it extremely (as they find more interesting people to follow), some are criticizing it, while some are just neglecting it. A possible enhancement could be a privacy setting wherein twitter users can decide themselves, if they want to appear as suggested users on other people’s profiles.
Will this new feature help Twitter in discovering more users, only time will tell but till then, current users can benefit themselves from the personalized suggestions offered from the micro blogging major. Moreover, maybe we can also expect some innovative uses of this new feature from our developers if it is included in the API.
So, you tell us, what do you think about this feature?

What a surprise. I woke up and checked the WATBlog update to find my mugshot looking at me!!
On a more serious note, I find that the twitter suggest a friend is rather arbit, since there is no serious effort to tabulate and suggest friends via coded interests!
However, when I tweet, it is half about what I like and more about what I do!
Good write up!
