Having its name featured in the recent social networking controversy hasn’t stopped Facebook from pioneering yet another series of features; and these are features that would be added to the infamous (pun intended) ‘Like’ button. The fact that Facebook had evolved such features as ‘Like’, posed a major threat to other Social Networking Sites, forcing them into taking initiatives and launching a counter-attack.
The popularity of this ‘Like’ button is immense as more than 350,000 websites have incorporated this element that results in 3 million and more Likes in a day. To leverage this popularity amongst websites and blogs, Facebook plans to improvise the ‘Like’ attributes, which in verity sounds more than business sense to Me.
Like it and also comment on it: Users can now Like an object (Product, Brand, etc.) and also add a comment to what they liked. Once a comment is added, the user’s profile is updated with every activity that happens thereon. This will give birth to an endless chain of comments. How? Let’s say you Like this post on WATBlog and one of your friends comments on it and this comment is liked by another acquaintance and again you comment on it. The result is a similar scenario as that of having two mirrors facing each other.
Graph API enables publishing to connected users: It is true that the commenting feature could confuse and also entertain. But, having said that firms that have already embedded the ‘Like’ button on to their web pages can reap the benefits of this commenting feature; wherein organizations can keep a track of Facebook users who liked their brands and send news feed stories to them on the latest events or products. This is made possible by adding relevant Open Graph Tags. With the aid of this feature a firm’s website can have access to a user’s Facebook page, who has liked the firm’s products or services, hence enabling the website to turn into a two-way communication channel. Along with this an application called Graph API facilitates the firm’s publishing of various feeds, special deals, coupons, local community information, etc. to multiple user pages or profiles.
Fully-loaded analytics: This element would help websites better understand whether or not the placement of the Like button is appropriate or not; or if there is a scope of improvement or not. The owner of the Website or Blog can study the results of different types of placements and finally choose a relevant position for the Like button which brings in maximum referral traffic to the site or blog.
Introducing these innovations is comprehended as a step taken by Facebook towards improving the fate of Online Organizations (Websites) and Blogs, through the provision of a larger platform for information sharing and communication. Besides this, competitors who are already trying too hard to defeat Facebook, would have to be real wise asses and struggle even harder to gain the top spot.

“Improvises”? Do you know what that means? Any idea?
No @Don. Why don’t you ‘Enlighten’ All of Us ??
its cool, what i think is,in these days there are facebook like or share buttons on too much websites and blogs with facebook dot com link on every share or like button, which works as a backlink for facebook this thing is increasing facebook backlinks day by day from thousands to lakhs, but there are not that much websites or blogs with google buzz[which gives google dot com link] share button,so one day this will happen that facebook will beat google in number of backlinks, thereby becoming number one website in world.
