Participants must submit their videos to YouTube Play before July 31, 2010. After this Guggenheim will shortlist a few videos which will be sent to an international jury of experts from the worlds of art, design, film and video to select the final top 20. These selected videos will be displayed at the Guggenheim museum in New York on October 21 and will also be featured in Guggenheim museums in Bilbao, Venice and Berlin. They will be available online on the YouTube Play brand channel at youtube.com/play. You can have a look at the funky official video of the initiative.

Described as ‘A Biennial of Creative Video’, the initiative wants to showcase the creativity of all those content creators who have helped make YouTube a revolution and show the world all that is possible with video. Guggenheim museums are a chain of museums which showcase modern and contemporary art and are suitable for showcasing the new age art forms. For more information on this initiative visit this page.

With the wide plethora of videos that the world uploads and views on YouTube, the finalists of this initiative will definitely be worth a watch.
