Tom & Jerry was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. Im sure a lot of today’s youth still connect with the cat and mouse antics which they watched as kids. This is the very reason why Turner Interactive is looking to launch an online virtual world for India which would feature Tom and Jerry characters.
Virtual worlds are the talk of the town these days with brands like Godrej launching their own which was followed by Games2win launching one for kids in India.
This would be the 3rd such initiative in as many months targetted towards the Indian markets. Turner Interactive’s plan is to create a dedicated site with many environments wherein users can create their own cartoon characters as well. It plans to integrate games alongwith the virtual world to increase enagagement time on the platform.
Turner interactive also plans to bring to India its MMORPGs called Fusion Fall and BEN 10 Omniverse.
Will Virtual Worlds With Cartoons Work In India?
Virtual worlds are fairly new concept for the Indian market. Social games like farmville though have made people work as a farmer in the virtual environment but full fledged virtual world engagement is yet to take place. Secondlife hasn’t been super successful in India and its too early to predict whether a virtual world kind of platform will be accepted by Indians. Though the indications globally do point towards this being the next big thing. Social + Virtual life with dash of social currency is gaining steam.

this is painful report to you that the present tom&jerry telecasted on Cartoon Network shows no more excellence as it had before when it was the production and directon of Chuck Jones. In the present one tom and jerry speaks , the co-creations are with their complete features from top to bottom and excessive background music is added which leaves it no more the funniest stressbuster of all times . Ealier my whole family used to watch tom&jerry and even my great grand parrents said it as their favourite passtime but now it has became boring for all of us and we are said that we have to find a new passtime for us .Sir , please take it as my benevolent request to you but make it as your first priority and cater us with our favourite.
