So, this is a big news coming in. One of the most requested feature : Real time feed publishing will become a reality with one of Google’s most popular ( an now updated ) API called Google Feed API .
So what is it all about ?

According to ReadWriteWeb ( who dug up the unlisted video..! ) :
The new version will accept real-time PubSubHubbub * feeds and will publish new headlines to a site visitor’s browser within seconds of their being published to the feed.
Here is the video explaining briefly what it is all about :

If you see the video, this could really change the way we read a website today. When several people including Robert Scoble said, that Twitter has replaced Google Reader, I wasn’t so sure of it. I still use my Google Reader, a lot in fact. But then the benefit of Twitter is that you can actually create a Reader like experience on Twitter ( Twitter lists are very helpful in this case ) plus you can get real time updates. Because, the author of the article tweets about it just after the article gets published on the website ( and the feeds of the blog post follow after some time ], while Google Reader does a good job of providing us feeds / archives / tons of options [ sharing / notes / favourites, etc ] but the element of real time has always been missing and compelled many ‘ news hungry’ people to switch to Twitter ( there are of course many more elements attached to this twitter transition, that is a separate topic for endless discussion ] . But with Google’s Feed API v 2.0 , real time updates on browser could be a great benefit for bloggers around the world. You can now imagine Twitter like streamline ( real time ) in all the blogs now, instant blog updates for your favorite website without the need to refresh. Sweet, right ?
Now all I need is Google Reader to support PubSubHubbub * .But, we all have to wait till Google I/O conference is held for more details. Real time is the ‘ present and the future ‘ and we are slowly going to see most of the website using this API to push real time feeds. Do let us know your views about Google’s real time strategy.
* I remember somebody asking me about PubSubHubbub, its a common question : What is it all about ?
I found this amazing slide, via Google Code .
