Steve Jobs : Thoughts On Adobe Flash – It Is Past And Dead!

Apple has already been facing a lot of criticism for not including Adobe’s Flash on their iPhone platform. As a result, many popular flash-dependent games and applications are not available for the iPhone. Apple CEO, Mr. Steve Jobs finally broke the silence and cited a lot of reasons so as to why Adobe Flash has been excluded from their flagship hand held device – iPhone.

According to Steve, Flash has too many bugs and drains batteries too quickly. He also cited reliability, security and performance issues for the same andthat Flash was designed for PCs using mice, not for touch screens using fingers, among other reasons why Apple will continue to keep the program off its devices. Flash becomes a third party between the iPhone software developers and Apple and developers can take advantage of improvements from Apple only if Adobe upgrades its own software. He concluded with a definite statement – The 200,000 apps on Apple’s App Store proves that Flash isn’t necessary for tens of thousands of developers to create graphically rich applications, including games.

Our verdict is all that Apple has to say is okay. But we feel the App Store might see more better and cooler apps if they made the Flash platform available for the iPhone. And the fact that expert Flash developers could also contribute then towards the App Store with better apps.
