Tech brands get a lot of mileage on social media and thats a given as a lot of tech enthusiasts are also early adopters of social media. But it would be interesting to know which tech brands actually rule the roost when it comes to being the talk of the town in social media. Edelman which is a global public relations firm has partnered with brand tracking firm Brandtology and unveiled the third edition of its Digital Brand Index for India.
They have tracked 186,588 online conversations pertaining to 97 large technology brands contained in 552 influential channels and then have come up with this report.
The findings are as follows:
- 26 per cent increase in online brand mentions between January – March 2010
- Google registered a 46 per cent rise in conversations and continued to be the top brand
- iPad made Apple rise the highest with a 67 per cent rise, followed by Sony’s 60 per cent rise
- Microsoft’s Office 2010 launch caused only a 7 per cent rise in online conversations
- In terms of the most used channels Twitter is a clear winners with 79 per cent of all tech brand mentions (141,034) found on it.
