Mobile users have always faced challenges in sharing files from their mobiles and had to limit their file sharing options to bluetooth or traditional uploading sites. Tranz – a product from Innoz wants to re-write the rules of File-sharing on mobiles as it allows a Social based approach to fulfill the file sharing needs of mobile users.
Tranz [ www.gotranz.com ] is a closed social network with primary objective of overcoming the difficulties in sharing files onto mobiles. It does so by securely attaching Mobile user’s number with their accounts so that a user can search his Phone-book contacts to find friends on Tranz network. So after adding a friend on to his network a user could easily share his mobile files.

The most important feature which gives Tranz its holistic social appeal is the shout feature allowing users to post public comments/shouts regarding a file which they owns – somewhat similar to current wave of micro-blog platforms. Tranz is also better than P2P sharing of mobile based IM as it hosts the users file onto its cloud space before transferring it to other users.
Tranz also allows private messaging between users although one-to-one chat is missing. The social file sharing application gets a distinct identity from apps like Nimbuzz as it surpasses IM networks. So if you have a friend who is not in gtalk you can still send him files provided he has an account on tranz. The recent introduction of mailing feature further allows users to send their files on to email addresses of their contacts thus increasing utility of such apps even with non-members.
It currently supports most java phones although support for Blackberry, Android and iPhone is still on its way. Tranz could provide a utilitarian way of file sharing for non-Smartphone users as most of the Smartphone users crave for desktop sync. It can still compete with many Popular Cloud based file sharing Players like Sugarsync ,Dropbox who have already devised big plans for their mobile forays due to its Social and Closed network based approach.

Thanks raghav for the review.
Will keep you posted.
