Twitter Announces @anywhere, Attaches Location To Tweets

Amid an audience filled with brightest minds in web and emerging technology , inquisitive for the twitter’s  advertising platform, at SXSW interactive  twitter CEO Evan Williams announced a new platform called @anywhere.

Apparently @anywhere is nothing but twitter’s me too effort to counter Google and Facebook connect, the blog post for the announcement reads

We’ve developed a new set of frameworks for adding this Twitter experience anywhere on the web. Soon, sites many of us visit every day will be able to recreate these open, engaging interactions providing a new layer of value for visitors without sending them to Twitter.com. Our open technology platform is well known and Twitter APIs are already widely implemented but this is a different approach because we’ve created something incredibly simple. Rather than implementing APIs, site owners need only drop in a few lines of javascript. This new set of frameworks is called @anywhere.

Though it seems interesting but how exactly is @anywhere going to implemented is not clear yet,

it is interesting that now twitter started positioning itself as an information network alike internet than mere a social network
