Dow Jones has made one more alliance after the recent Jobs alliance with Naukri.com for Wall Street Journal India. This time The Wall Street Journal India has tied up with Bharti Airtel to launch a downloadable mobile application exclusively available to Airtel mobile customers during an initial launch period.
The service can be downloaded free-of-charge by Airtel pre-paid and post-paid mobile user and will provide almost real time (2 minutes delay for news) updates with the latest Indian and international business and general news headlines, Indian stock market movements and commentary, stories on technology trends and lifestyle features as well as multimedia content.
Along with this announcement at the press conference Mitya New, MD of Dow Jones India also stated that they have also tied up for a hotel deals with Yatra.com, an Indian online travel agency.
Cost Of Application
For the mobile app customers shall pay a monthly subscription fee of 99 rupees to access additional premium financial market news and data, use a news personalization function and access a portfolio tracker which helps monitor stock portfolios as well as mutual funds and commodities investments.
Compatibility
The WSJ India mobile app will be compatible with most Blackberry models and Nokia Smartphone model.It will soon be rolled out for other models as well. One can download the app via sms too by smsing “WSJ” to 54321 via one’s Airtel phones.
