Reportedly, DMRC and Google India announced their partnership through Google Transit, to provide complete information on Delhi Metro schedules and routes. Google transit, launched in 2007 is a service integrated with Google maps helping users find out the directions by public transit. Initially launched in United States, China, Japan and Europe now the service has finally arrived in the country with it’s launch in Delhi.
Google transit provides extensive information on train timings, station locations, frequency of service, time taken for travel and ticket fares and thus making commute really easy.
Manik Gupta, Product Manager, Google Maps & Local said, “Google Transit’s goal is to make public transport information easily accessible and useful. With just a click on a station, commuters can get information showing timings, stations, passing lines, frequency of service etc. As Delhi Metro becomes the favoured public transportation for thousands of commuters every day, it would benefit by attracting new commuters and helping existing commuters to discover new routes. All this will be available on desktops as well as mobiles to make it easier for the commuters.” as quoted on afaqs.
Quick Review:
I tried a quick search for a public transit route between Dwarka and Noida and the results were quite impressive, The service lived up to it’s promise and the results were quite impressive,it returned the shortest route , the total fair , journey time and the frequency of trains, with a route trace on google maps

Good one. I too did a couple of searches and amazed to see the result. I hope as new routes are added in future, data will be updated to get the correct result.
Thanks
