BIG FM Partners OnMobile – Launches 17 Multi-Lingual Mobile Radio Options

Going mobile is becoming the next big thing as we see partnerships after partnerships being formed to reach the huge mobile population of India. In the same vein Reliance Media World Ltd.’s radio division 92.7 BIG FM has entered into a partnership with VAS provider, OnMobile to launch the radio experience on the mobile platform. Through this partnership BIG Mobile Radio (an initiative of 92.7 BIG FM) will provide 17 multi-lingual specially programmed channels anywhere in India. This service will also be available in select global markets including Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia which have large Indian communities.

As this service is via VAS users will be able to access their favorite radio channel no matter where they are so a Tamil listener in Mumbai will be able to listen to native-language programming on Big Mobile Radio.

Leveraging the radio station’s programming expertise, BIG Mobile Radio will create special feeds for mobile listeners which include an assortment of entertainment options to select from and allows consumers to enjoy songs, Bollywood entertainment, jock talk, humor, health tips and more.

Currently on which operators have been roped in for this service is unknown. We can surely expect RCom to roll out this service but it will be interesting to see how many other operators are tied in by Onmobile. BIG FM has been innovating constantly in the field of radio and digital. Even earlier they had launched podcasts on their website and also dabbled with social media.
