Jivisha.com – Doctors Get Own Social Networking Space

Social Networking portals are now being community specific; here comes new social networking site for Doctors and health care professionals – jivisha.com. This portal is open for all (That too free). This portal will be a great help for medical students, hospitals and medical institutions. It comes from the Webdunia stable who have been known for vernacular sites.

jivisha

Major Highlights of the portal:

• Search doctors by name, specialty or name
• Articles, News, Photos, Audios and Videos on health, medicine etc…
• Job posting and job search
• Creates doctors customized pages, which contains Doctos professional summary, About Doctor, Doctor videos, photos, Association with NGO etc….
• Ask your queries to doctors
• Doctor and Health Forum
• Search by Symptom (Interesting Feature) : 2-D model of male, female or child, choose your body part having health problem, then list of symptom appears pick the symptom and list of doctors dealing with the specific illness opens in a new window.

Let’s Talk about Design Now
• Design is bit scattered
• Doctors customized pages could have templates as per their profession or specialization
• Nice blend of colors
• Scope of improvement in terms of design

Money comes from
Currently, they are using Google adsense but I would feel that over the period of time they will start charging for professional advice, take doctor’s appointment etc

Adoption is key?

Question we think will matter is how many doctors have internet access during work hours? Also how many of them have time after work hours? This is what this portal will find out soon.

Seems great. But there are already decent players in same space, like http://www.meramd.com

How does jivisha plan on monetizing. Old fashioned way of ad revenue $$ or is there commercial model too..
