Intel & Nokia Join Hands To Produce A Versatile Mobile Platform – Meego
Intel and Nokia have announced a merger of their respective mobile platforms – Moblin and Maemo. – which gave birth to an entirely new linux-based platform mainly aimed at supporting multiple hardware across a broad range of device segments including pocketable mobile computers, netbooks, tablets, mediaphones, connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems. The new platform is called Meego.
Now, Windows Gives You The Windows Phone 7 Series!
Microsoft unveiled it’s all new Windows Phone 7 series – a device that according to Microsoft will bring Xbox games and Zune music & video on a mobile device. The device comes with a dedicated hardware button for Bing, providing one-click access to search from anywhere on the phone – both web and local-relevant results – yet another strateg of Microsoft to promote Bing. The sad part of the entire launch is that the device does not support Flash & Multitasking as of now.

Apple’s App Store Faces Serious Competition
According to a news report, about twenty-four telecom operators (including world’s largest mobile device manufacturers – LG Electronics, Samsung and Sony Ericsson) have formed an alliance to build an open platform which is similar to Apple’s very successful App Store. The aim of this new open platform is to deliver applications to all mobile phone users from one single gateway. This in turn will also serve as a platform for members of various developer communities to produce good & useful apps and also a platform for the developers to showcase their skills.
Motorola Showcases Yet Another Android Handset – The Quench
Quench is yet another Android Based mobile handset from Motorola which was showcased at the MWC this year. The device has new features such as the Swype that makes responding to messages and entering text easier & faster. The device also comes with MOTOBLUR which keeps happenings, messages, news feeds more readily available for browsing and responding on the customizable home screen.
In basic specifications, The Quench has a 3.1″ hi-res display – touch-screen combined with easy navigational features such as pinch and zoom and a touch pad. The device also has support for Adobe Flash Lite.
