- The facebook mobile site and the touch site enables users to access Facebook from any mobile browser in more than 70 languages.
- Facebook has tied up with more than 80 operators in 32 countries enabling users to stay connected and communicate with their friends on Facebook using SMS text messages. An URL shortening service FB.ME was also launched allowing you to share and access more content through services like SMS which have character limitations.

Facebook has also launched the XMPP protocol of their Chat platform in order to make Facebook Chat available everywhere thereby letting all users of messaging clients such as iChat, Pidgin, Adium, Miranda and more to use the Facebook chat on the messaging clients itself. With the introduction of all these features, developers can build applications and customize them for the mobile platform thereby generating more revenue by means of advertisement. Facebook Chat has been extended into Facebook Connect too which will again let developers to build chat experiences into their website, desktop or mobile instant-messaging applications and services.
