Mobile Roundup: 4G Won’t Hamper 3G Bidding, Cupid Strikes iPhone, Comics on Reliance Mobiles

4G Won’t Hamper 3G Bidding

We have already talked about 3G bidding here on WAT Blog. Now there has been a lot of buzz created by 4G and people are worried whether the news of 4G coming to India might hamper the 3G auctions due February 25 this year.To this, the union minister for Communications and Information Technology – Mr. A. Raja said that the launch of 4G spectrum is still late and would in no way hamper the 3G spectrum auction. According to the ministers both the technologies can easily co-exist.

According to a news source, 4G May take yet another year to come to India. According to the minister, there is a commercial viability for 3G and no bidders would stay back and wait for the 4G. In between all this stir, the most badly affected is the common man – who remains without any clue so as to what should be taken 4G or 3G or what exactly is the 3G!

Now Comics on Reliance Mobiles

After International Mobile App Stores started Selling Indian Comic Series, Reliance Communications has followed suit. Although not via mobile app stores, but they have now started to offer daily comic strips to all their GSM customers all over India. The comic strips that are currently available are Cartoon Network’s Ben 10, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Laboratory and the Powerpuff Girls and Archie’s Series at a subscription price of Re 1 per day. Subscribers  will be sent one comic strip daily.

We don’t think providing one comic strip daily is a good idea because once the reader finds interest in one particular strip, he / she would obviously want more and unavailability of which will definitely be a big turn-off!
