Out of the the thousands of Apps in the App stores of various Mobile Devices, We are sure there are many Apps which have Desi Coders as their authors, but this is for the first time that India centric Apps have made it to the International App stores of the iPhone, The Nokia Ovi Store and the Android Market Place. And behind all this is a Chennai based Multimedia Company which publishes comics under the brand name of Comicshead.
Comicshead has launched it’s popular comic series Rambow Ramu as free mobile apps and will be available for free download from Nokia’s Ovi Store, iTunes and the Android Store. They also plan to launch it for the Windows mobile platform too. Rambow Ramu is a comic series about the misadventures of a village guy, who lives, breathes, eats and sleeps wanting to be the next ‘King of Bollywood’. New volumes of the comics are pushed every week to the App as of now. Although we checked all the app stores but, Rambow Ramu was not ready for download yet.
We also have reports which confirm Nextwave has launched three more Comic Series – ‘The Story of Gandhi’, ‘Thomas Alva Edison’ and ‘Panchatantra Tales’ on various mobile app stores. So finally we can see the world reading Desi Comics – and the kids now might be interested in reading these too and throw away their “Dee See” comics for “Dhhaimond” comics!
