35 Percent Of Cars Sold In India Are Researched On Web First! Looks like an opportunity?

The blogging scene in India has never looked back after broadband and knowledge penetration happened in the urban Indian society. Yougsters have become more knowledgeable and aware of the stuff around them. Today the Indian blogosphere is full of splogs (read: spam blogs) that will tell you how to bring readers to your website and how to make money online – content duplication at it’s height!

But no one bothers to blog or talk or develop a web service that is cent-percent automobiles in India! And the ones who did are now reaping the benefits. According to a recent report, Four out of every 10 new cars bought and three in every 10 used car bought are first researched about on the internet before the actual purchase is made.

So how is this an opportunity?

The online automobile website scenario in India is still in it’s nascent stage and there exist only a few good blogs and web services that talk and do 100% automobiles, Indian! The young Indian or may be anyone can take hold of the stats that we just mentioned above and start a automobile research website or may be an informative blog, that can help customers research their car purchase before they actually make it.

People can blog about automobile scenarios in their states or cities. As the online awareness in India is gradually increasing, the search for Automobiles on Indian roads and markets are bound to increase. People will definitely use the web to make do their car research and make their next car purchase, online! Yes all this is going to happen.

Other than ads and lead selling, what do you think are the other revenue opportunities for such portals ?
Debjit, at least include this in the “So how is this an opportunity?”

Some analysis is desired, at the least.
