Sunil Nair the founder and CEO of Nautanki.tv has quit the company. Our sources confirmed that he has put in his papers last month and is currently serving his notice period. Nautanki.tv was founded in November 2006 by Sunil Nair and currently has its offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai and New York. In the middle of last year nautanki was acquired by Hungama Digital. Hungama took a 74% stake in the company for Rs 4 crore giving it a valuation of Rs 5.4 crore.

Nautanki has made multiple strong tie ups post its acquisition by hungama. It was in the news for its tie up with times now and then with star tv. Nautanki was last in the news for its budget telecast and its responses on UTVi.
We have come to know from our sources that Sunil still holds about 4-5% stake in the company. Sunil is apparently leaving for personal reasons and has no immediate plans to move into any other company. There is also no news that we have on who is being touted as the next replacement for Sunil in Nautanki.tv.
We tried contacting Mr.Sunil Nair but didn’t get a response from him. We have also contacted Hungama PR and await a confirmation from them.
SunilĀ has always been an advertising andĀ internet professional an in 2005 he had joined Hungama.com where he worked with Neeraj Roy in various roles. He later worked with Pinstorm and his last employer was Brand Portrait where Sunil setup the Digital division and was its CEO.

Oh finally you guys found out!!! to add to the story, eight employees – four of them of the top management team at nautanki have quit after Sunil Nair resigned. what a waste of a brilliant company.
why are so many people leaving Hungama? Mobani, sunil nair, rashna and many more. is something wrong? there have been talk of delayed salaries to employees of nautanki.tv too. rajiv what is the real story, this exclusive does not tell the whole truth
Cool Man! Thanks for the News
They made an idiot of Neeraj Roy by throwing fake numbers inspite of everyone in Hungama knowing it was a con-job. Finally, the cookie has crumbled and Sunil Nair is running away. So many of their partners have stopped giving them content. What a pity that such con-artists go away scott free.
Sunil Nair would claim they were doing 10 million video views per day and noone ever saw Nautanki anywhere on Alexa!! AHaha, Finally! is right, what a con-job and now it has been revealed
its of no consequence, nair leavin. In hindsight is a good thing for N.tv. atleast now there is potential for the biz to grow.
he was more of a liability, thats all!!
n dhingra, wake up smell the off coffee!!
this news is over 10 days old now…
@Kimo – Please show me a post anywhere on the internet which has reported this story. Its not important that its 10 days old what is important is that its reported no where else
This makes it the 4th successive job Nair has been fired from.
Percept, Pinstorm, BrandPortrait and now Nautanki, where all of us in the web video business know that he lied about the traffic and video views to a phenomenal extent.
He’s been caught again, kicked out again, yet escaped. Amazing guy
All the best to whoever hires or funds him next…
Alright News from the Internal sources.
There was a fist fight between the remaining 2 of the 4 owners who initially started of this company. Herumb was forcefully removed a few months after the inception cuz Mr. Sunil thought he was not up to the mark (like sunil ever was) Later after a year and half Vikram Prabhu was ousted given the same reason.. (Sunil was putting his nose in an area he doesn’t know – Content) Vikram quit.
Coming back to the latest.. in November the remaining two sold out partners.. Ram the CTO and Sunil the CEO had a fist fight right inside the conference room. Ram’s shirt was torn and Sunil bruised where both grabbing each other’s collar. The employees took hold of the situation and seperated them. So finally the whole hoopla of Nautanki is out for us to see.
The views were fake and I bet the people are fake too. Publishers never got their money and forget the previous content generators who where never paid.
I guess with 3000 widgets which automatically starts when the page is opened disregarding the fact if being watched or not, the views will definatly be high.
And to talk about Sunil I guess he was not even potential enough to spread awareness about this new platform let alone bringing advertisements.
