CarWale.com Teams Up With AOL India For Innovative Content

We spoke about car portals tying up with other companies that can bring them traction to their business, for instance MeriCAR.com who recently launched SMS alerts had tied up with SPEED helpline. This time in news it is CarWale.com who has partnered with AOL India to form a co-brand called AOL Autos.

AOL Autos promises attractive content on CarWale.com that can draw attention of existing customers as well as new users. The content available on CarWale is more about purchasing cars other than all the servicing workshops which is available with MeriCar.com. Gaadi.com on the other hand has more or less the same content as CarWale, but this new collaboration could give the latter a head start in user generation.

According Mohit Dubey, CEO, CarWale, “While AOL.in is a premier information portal, CarWale is India’s premier car-information portal. The association of CarWale with AOL.in as a content partner is a symbiotic relationship. In an age where content is the differentiator, this partnership would definitely bring in mutual benefits where CarWale powers AOL with an exhaustive platform of car-related information for its readers, on a click.” The new innovation will only recommend latest cars to visitors and advice them about available car loans. May be this partnership is more for AOL to spread its wings in the Indian market.

Online classifieds segment with cars having the smallest players i.e. no big classified player like Naukri, Shaadi or Times is really focusing on this space. Thereby these spaces could be the lucrative spaces for young startups like Gaadi and others to look at to make a mark and some money in the bargain. AOL could benefit from this if the collaboration clicks, but certainly CarWale would create more opportunities for itself in the nascent market.
