Yatra Ties Up With Yahoo! India & Renews Contract With IRCTC
Yatra.com the travel portal has started the new year with two alliances. One of them being new and one being renewed from previous years. Yatra has signed a strategic deal with Yahoo India which involves advertising space on Yahoo’s India website. As a part of this deal, Yatra.com will be featured as the recommended travel website on Yahoo! India homepage. In addition to the dedicated link Yahoo! India will provide dedicated display advertising inventory to Yatra.com on its Homepage, Finance and News sections. The deal also extends to Yatra.com being featured as the Knowledge Partner on Yahoo! Answers for Travel category.
Speaking on the partnership, Dhruv Shringi, Co-founder and CEO of Yatra.com, said, “Partnering with a leading site like Yahoo! India is a logical choice for Yatra.com. Through this association,Yatra.com will benefit from the strong reach of Yahoo! in India”.
Yatra’s last tie up was for DTH Distribution with Dish Tv in August last year and that was followed by other travel portals partnering with other DTH players too. The Online travel space has been fiercely competitive with 3-4 large players trying to capture a bigger piece of the pie of the Indian travel space. Yatra has also renewed its contract with IRCTC for offering train bookings on its travel portal.
All in all Yatra seems to be gearing up for an eventful 2010 and is pumping funds to extend its reach and revenues in the OTA space in India
