Indian cricketers now get into the world of web. They call this a communication medium which will help their fans to get in touch with them and vice versa. TechShot Digital who has helped the four budding cricketers launch their websites on the digital platform including the mobile, new media and technology spheres. The four famous cricketers who now have their own websites are captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (www.dhoniworld.com), off-spinner Harbhajan Singh (www.bhajjiworld.com), vice-captain Virender Sehwag (www.viruworld.com) and fast bowler Ishant Sharma (www.ishantworld.com).

These sites would be known as official websites for these players, who would use this platform to upload videos, pictures and other fancy widgets which will set an interactive bar for their respective audience. TechShot Digital in association with Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd. organized a press conference where these websites were officially launched. The four players answered media questions at the conference which was a sight to watch.

Sehwag denied the very first question that contained details about the abandoned match at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, saying that this conference was about their personal lives and the websites of course and not about cricket. But Dhoni found few questions inevitable hence had to answer them. Ishant on the other hand was only asked about the type of websites he visited, at which everyone laughed. But later he answered about his involvement on Orkut, Facebook and CricInfo.
At the the press conference during the launch of these four websites, one of the media personnel from PTI raised a question for Dhoni that all of these sites are launched but BCCI still doesn’t have a full fledged site. So if he would recommend BCCI also to do something similar for all the cricket interaction that followers would want to ask. He laughed at this as did most of the people at the conference, and answered that he wasn’t sure if they would do the same. But, he would pass on the message to the concerned person.

Providing digital identity management platforms to celebrities and organisations, TechShot would also help these cricketers to raise funds for charity through auctions and other donations. Hence they spell a great deal of revenues for themselves too. Dhoni denied being on Twitter and said that the already existing profiles were fake, but lately Shashi Tharoor got in a bit of trouble by boasting his democratic rights on Twitter. This shows how hard it becomes for celebrities to talk their heart out in public, sometimes.
The official owners of the site said that they would be handling the sites themselves in a month’s time, but so far the widgets created on the homepage for MySpace, Facebook and Twitter haven’t had much interaction. Infact without intended pun, even the TechShot Digital webpage was under construction when this post was written!

Good but basic websites, all the sites are not good in terms of interaction (still they have 1 month to finish the work) but I hope they will stay upto the standard of cricketers
Nice initiative!!! Fans will get a chance to communicate with their dream star directly (if they will reply back
).
But personally I didn’t like the designing of the sites.
On http://viruworld.com I am getting “A license is required for all but personal use of this code. Please adhere to our Terms of use if you use dyn-web code.” on many pages. They are using code with no license.
http://dhoniworld.com/home.html is taking too long to load same for images on http://www.viruworld.com.
http://bhajjiworld.com and http://dhoniworld.com/ are entirely in Flash. (I can’t understand why the whole site is to be made in flash. I don’t like it.)
Let’s see how the TechShot comes up with the improvements in future. Will have to keep visiting the site for the updates
I cant believe that you guys havent looked into the usability of the sites. I agree with Mittal’s comments.
The sites SUCK! They are badly designed and are totally impersonal. The code on most of them isnt good either. Like all things in India, this is a result of “Contacts”
Im disappointed that WATBlog has covered this like any press person would (beating drums) and not analysed any of the sites. Im very, very disappointed.
hey there !
check out the latest official website of DHONI

Hey
I think we should appreciate the effort involved and if there is any scope to improvement we should suggest but we should comment in such way that somebody’s effort is totally waste.Anyways its a nice effort cheers guys:)
What a wasted effort! Do these popular cricketers deserve such shabby websites?
